Gry Forssell Moves Into Gothenburg

2024-04-08

This morning marked a new chapter for radio listeners in Gothenburg as familiar voices joined forces with new ones on Mix Megapol. Sweden’s most popular morning radio show, Gry Forssell med vänner, is now being broadcast from and to the Gothenburg region every weekday from 6:00 to 10:00 AM – bringing a national favorite even closer to West Sweden.

The move also brings a local twist: two beloved Gothenburg personalities, Erik Thorsell – known as “Halvtids-Erik” – and traffic reporter Anders “Pipistrello” Rönnefors, are now permanent parts of the show. Their addition aims to maintain the strong local connection that Gothenburg listeners have come to appreciate over the years.

“Listeners in Gothenburg are getting the best of both worlds. Gry Forssell med vänner, Sweden’s most popular morning show, just got even better with Halvtids-Erik and Pipistrello on board. We’re thrilled to keep the local relevance while expanding our morning show nationwide,” said Alexander Lindahl, Head of Programming at Mix Megapol.

Rönnefors will continue delivering up-to-date local traffic reports directly from the streets of Gothenburg, while Thorsell brings his trademark humor and on-the-ground perspective to the daily broadcast.

The change comes after Ingemar Allén and Peter Sandholt, longtime members of the Gothenburg-based Morrongänget, left Mix Megapol earlier this spring to join a competing station. Former co-host Annika Sjöö has also moved on to pursue new ventures.

With this new constellation, Mix Megapol is betting on a blend of national appeal and local familiarity to solidify its spot as Sweden’s go-to morning radio destination.
