Radio P6 byter namn till Radio RIX
Sveriges Nya Radio P6 and Radio Rix merged, and the station continued under the name Radio RIX. After the merger of P6 and Radio Rix, the Radio Rix slogan continued to be used for some time. Radio Rix played a cheerful and uplifting mix of “Today’s Hits and Yesterday’s Favorites!” The programming combined contemporary adult pop with classic hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
1997
At the beginning of 1997, Radio RIX changed its slogan to “Sweden’s Pulse!”. At that time, Radio RIX described itself primarily as a music station for an adult audience. The music was consistent and provided a clear sense of recognition for the station. Radio RIX always offered listeners a cheerful and uplifting mix of both old and new songs.
1998-03-09
Format adjustment to deliver the best music right now. On March 9, 1998, the station changed its slogan once again. This followed several months of analysis focusing on the station’s target audience aged 20 and up. The aim was to understand how listeners wanted RIX to sound. The result was clear: listeners were asking for better music. As a result of this survey, Radio RIX took things a step further and implemented a format adjustment. From that date, the station introduced its new format under the tagline “the best music right now!”. The adjustment primarily involved a higher proportion of new music and less music from the 70s and 80s. Additionally, the station received a refreshed identity with new jingles.
